COVID-19 Mask Shortage Relief
When the Covid-19 pandemic struck the US, there were masks shortages everywhere. We raised $3,970 through our GoFundMe and WeChat campaigns. We used the money to buy 10,000 masks which we donated to the Mercy Hospital, Nassau University Medical Center, NYU Winthrop Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, Glen Cove Hospital, Jericho Fire Department, Long Island Coalition for the Homeless and Four Directions Mutual Aids.

Breast Cancer Awareness

For the month of October, De-Stress Bakery teamed up with the Jericho High School Girls Volleyball team in their annual Dig Pink Bake Sale. All proceeds went to Girls Volleyball Coach D'Antonio's organization to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Medical Minds

Destress Bakery partnered with nonprofit Medical Minds to run a Valentine's Day-themed sale in order to raise money for two organizations; Operation Smile, one of the largest surgical nonprofits that seeks to improve the health of patients with cleft conditions, and the Singer Strong Foundation, which is dedicated to researching a cure for synovial sarcoma.

Help Homeless New York

Destress Bakery was proud to partner with another nonprofit organization in our high school, Help Homeless New York, whose mission is to provide support to homeless relief services in New York. Through this sale, we were able to raise hundreds to provide homeless shelters across New York with essential supplies.

Charity: Water

With summer approaching and temperatures increasing, Destress Bakery decided to direct its efforts toward bringing clean water to those in need. This donation to Charity: Water directly supported an ambitious plan to provide clean drinking water to 38,000 people in Sierra Leone, where unclean water often causes disease, stomachaches, rashes, and worse.

The Alzheimer's Foundation of America

Destress Bakery was proud to partner with the Young Hearts Club, a community service organization that connects high school students and senior citizens through activities at nursing homes. Together, we raised money for the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, a foundation that gives support, services, and education to those affected by Alzheimer's disease.

Epilepsy Foundation of America

For Epilepsy Awareness Month, Destress Bakery decided to partner with the Purple Ribbon Foundation and donate to the Epilepsy Foundation of America. The mission of the Epilepsy Foundation of America is to support the over 3.4 million people living with epilepsy in the US. With our donation, we hope to help provide information, support, and training to those who need it.

Equal Justice Initiative

After seeing the racial injustice in our country, we felt that we had to do something to help the BLM cause. We matched each dollar that people paid for our baked goods, and the total amount that went to the Equal Justice Initiative was $300.

The Trevor Project

During the month of June, Pride Month, Destress Bakery decided to donate to the Trevor Project, a suicide prevention organization that focuses on LGBTQ+ youth.

Following our donation to the Trevor Project, Destress Bakery decided to donate to GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network), an education organization that works to prevent bullying based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.

No Kid Hungry

During the holiday season, while many of us were celebrating with our families, we were aware that millions across the US didn't have enough food to eat. So, we decided to donate to No Kid Hungry, an organization that works to end childhood hunger in the United States.

Wuhan Charity Foundation

At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Wuhan was struck the hardest and we felt that we had to help. The people in our community felt the same way and we were able to raise $222 dollars to send to China to aid Covid-19 efforts there.

Welcome To Chinatown Longevity Fund

As a result of Covid-19 pandemic shut-downs and increased xenophobia against Asians, many Asian operated restaurants have been hurt. To support these small businesses, we decided donate money to the Welcome to Chinatown Longevity Fund, a small business relief fund.

Thurgood Marshall College Fund

To further support the BLM cause, we donated to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, which is the nation's largest organization exclusively representing the black college community.

JHS Food Drive

During the mandatory quarantine period, many people were not able to work or have access to grocery shopping. We teamed up with our school to donate food to those people. We raised enough money to buy $177 worth of food, totaling to 20+ boxes.

International Rescue Committee

Since 2014, Yemen has been going through the largest humanitarian crisis known to man. Although our donation is small in the grand scheme of things, we hope that our contribution can help.

Red Cross Hurricane Ian Relief Fund

After hearing about the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian, Destress Bakery decided to make its first donation of 2022 to the Red Cross Hurricane Ian Relief fund, which works to provide shelter, food, and water for those affected by the crisis.

Lustgarden Foundation

After making a custom order for a birthday party, we donated the earnings to the Lustgarden Foundation, a foundation dedicated to pancreatic cancer research, as per the customer's order, someone who was personally impacted by pancreatic cancer.

Breast Cancer Research Foundation

For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Destress Bakery decided to donate to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The mission of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to prevent and cure breast cancer. With our donation, we hope to further research efforts.

Chinatown Partnership

The majority of the Destress team is made up of minorities. In an effort to save small businesses, we decided to focus on Chinatown in NYC, an area full of history and small businesses.

Lebanese Red Cross

On August 4th, 2020, a devastating explosion happened in Beirut, Lebanon that killed at least 200 people, injured around 5,000 people, and left an estimated 300,000 people homeless. We donated money to the Lebanese Red Cross to aid rescue efforts.

National Alliance on Mental Health

Most people around the world suffer from mental health issues, ranging from mild effects to serious life threatening conditions. Destress Bakery believes it is important to spread greater mental health awareness.
